Ruzyně Airport is located on the northwest outskirts of Prague in Ruzyně, about 20 km from the city centre.

          This is the largest airport in the Czech Republic and also in Central and Eastern Europe. Through gradual and constant growth, it has been possible to double the number of passengers over the course of five years. A big thanks belongs to all of the roughly fifty air carriers, which ensure connections between Prague and 103 destinations around the world on regular and irregular routes.

          In November 2005 the airport in Prague cleared its ten millionth passenger thus ranking it among the TOP 20 most important European airports.

          Thanks to the construction of the Terminal North 2, Prague has become an important transport hub for Central Europe thus strengthening the intensity of flight connections of Prague with both European and overseas destinations. The main function of extending the terminal is to clear flights to countries in the European Union in line with the so-called Schengen Agreement. Terminal North 2 offers further growth in capacity of up to 10 million passengers per year. The number of boarding tunnels is being increased by 10 to a total number of 27.

          Comfort for travellers has been increased among other things by the opening of the new conference rooms and other areas, for example for the VIP and business clientele, for passengers with children and similar. The number of shops and catering areas has significantly increased in the public and transit areas of the terminal and the check-in facilities for the airlines have also been extended.
